What is a cookie and what is it used for?
A cookie is a small text file saved on your computer or similar device such as a tablet or smart phone.
Two types of cookies are used on PostNord’s website: persistent cookies and session cookies. Persistent cookies are stored as a file on your computer for a certain period of time until the website visitor, or the server that sent the cookies, erases them. Session cookies are only stored temporarily while the visitor browses a website and are erased when the browser is closed.
Cookies can either be first-party cookies or third-party cookies. First-party cookies are placed by the website you are visiting while third-party cookies are placed by another party/website than the one you are visiting. For example, third-party cookies are often used by advertising networks to identify a particular user and use information about how the user consumes content on the various websites or apps, as well as to display (customised) advertising on the network’s websites.
Pixel tags, web storage, mobile identifiers and other similar technologies can also have the same or similar functions as cookies. In this cookie policy, the term “cookie” refers to all cookies, mobile identifiers and similar technologies.
